The first book in The Michael Saga series, Gathering of Angels, brings together the 12 leaders of the 144,000 incarnated angels with their mentors, the 12 archangels, atop Glastonbury Tor in the darkest time of the year. Each one holds a key to awakening the whole of humanity, and every character aligns with a specific ray of divine light. Here are the 12 archangels who guide the characters:

Archangel Michael is the co-leader of the angels. Prince of the Angelic Hosts, Michael oversees the first ray of divine light (blue), the essence of divine will and power, purpose, protection and clarity. He is known as the Creator’s right hand. Michael is one of the archangels who appears in many religious texts, and he’s well known as the protector of humanity. His name means “Perfect one of God.”  Michael Browne, one of our two main characters in The Michael Saga, works with his mentor, the great archangel.

Archangel Metatron is the other co-leader of the angels. Prince of the Presence, the “Breath of God,” Metatron is known as the voice and embodiment of the Creator. He is said to be an archangel and a seraphim like Michael. He oversees the 12th ray of divine light (opalescent white in color), which relates to creation, universal consciousness, metamorphosis/transfiguration, renewal, and universal law. Melody Childress, the other main character in the series, works with Metatron.

Archangel Jophiel (or Joviel), whose name means “beauty of God,” serves as archangels of the yellow ray of divine illumination, wisdom, innocence, creativity, inspiration and joy. He helps us to align the mind with the higher mind and heal the inner child. Corresponding character: Aasmi Gupta

Archangel Chamuel’s name means “He who seeks God.” He expands divine love into all hearts by energizing the third ray of charity, love, compassion, adoration, and beauty. Corresponding character: Tomiko Omichi

Archangel Gabriel (“strength of God”), the divine messenger, Gabriel, the Divine Messenger stands at the left hand of the Creator. He is an archangel and a seraphim who emanates the white and golden-white light of purification, creation, resurrection, and manifestation (fourth ray). Corresponding character: Yas Hataałii

Archangel Raphael (“God heals”) is archangel of divine healing, knowledge, renewal, springtime, marriage, and abundance on the fifth ray (emerald light).  Corresponding character: Grace Smith

Archangel Uriel, whose name means “flame of God” or “light of God,” is described as “regent of the sun.” He governs the sixth ray of divine light, the ray of peace, divine radiance, alchemy, transcendence, ministering service, and reverence. Archangels Uriel and Michael have much in common as they both energize passion for life and for purpose and offer the gift of empowerment. Corresponding character: Michel DeRosa

Archangel Zadkiel (“Righteousness of God”) shines freedom’s flame on the violet ray of divine forgiveness, mercy, transmutation, karmic cleansing and ascension.  Corresponding character: Alistair Carmichael

Archangel Uzziel serves on the eighth (aqua) ray of divine integration, clarity, virtue, discernment, truth, and purpose. Like Archangel Michael, he seeks to strengthen faith in the divine and to bring cleansing to that which is in shadow.  Corresponding character: Samuel Santos

Archangel Ariel, lion of God, oversees the ninth ray of transcendent joy, spiritual expansion, harmony, and lightbody activation. As bringer of harmony, Ariel holds the magenta flame within the sacred heart and breathes eternal harmony to awaken that heart flame and ignite the alchemy of love. Along with Raphael and Uriel, Archangel Ariel is deeply involved in the healing of animals and protection of the natural world. Corresponding character: Anaishe Tsdhuma

Archangel Nathaniel serves on the 10th ray of glory, grace, Christed perception, prosperity, and eternal blessings. This light is a higher octave of pure healing energy and peace.  Corresponding character: Baiju Gupta

Archangel Sandalphon, Metatron’s twin brother, shine his light on the 11th (peach) ray of nurturing intelligence, loving wisdom, divine creation, and spiritual integration. His immensity, like Metatron’s, spans from the highest level of Heaven to the Earth. Corresponding character: Sophia Rodriquez

Note: The corresponding characters come from the same ray of light as their mentor.

About the Author

Diana Henderson founded the Order of Archangel Michael in June 2002 and served as its facilitator for 13 years. After connecting deeply to the angelic realm over decades, she has taught countless classes on the angels and archangels. She began offering monthly meetings called A Gathering of Angels in December 2005.

Diana’s childhood dream was to become a writer. She started writing poetry at age nine and amassed quite a volume by the time she entered her teens. From early childhood on, she envisioned worlds of imagination and created a haven of peace and serenity. In moments alone with nature, she knew her greatest childhood joy and could see the world as it was meant to be: a place where love reigned and everything was beautiful. She never stopped envisioning that world.

Her writing background includes a BA degree in English, specialization in writing, from East Carolina University in 1980. She later went through the graduate school at UNCG for teaching certification. For years thereafter, she continued to take classes in writing. After spending a few years teaching English, she used her talents by working as a graphic designer and copywriter, but her love for writing fiction and poetry never waned. On her 60th birthday in December 2015, she published her first novel, Grandfather Poplar.

Diana works as an editor and writer for Realization Press and Creative Type.
