Sweet Dreaming Soul
(for my beloved husband Drew, my favorite Pisces)

Shall I sing a siren’s song
To the god of the seas?
Are you not Poseidon’s own
Sweet dreaming soul, Pisces?
The ocean whispers in your eyes
Of sunlit silken waves
And the spirit in them belies
Echoes of deep sea caves.
Passionate poet of the depths
With Triton at your side,
Into my heart and soul you crept
As gently as the tide,
And I was swept far out to sea
To be Neptune’s lover.
Wherever the currents carry me
Only love may discover.
